Michael Hynes is a veteran record producer, engineer, and studio musician, currently living in Asheville, NC. Michael operates Nomatic Studio, a full-service mixing, and mastering facility as well as being the head engineer and producer in residence at Purple Ridge Studio a Northward Acoustics tracking room in Canton NC.

He works with artists across genres with his band The Mercenaries to create captivating music from the seed of an idea to its highest expression. Michael is versed in all the aspects of record production, using his skills as a producer, composer, and bassist as well as the technical side as a mixing and mastering engineer.

Outside of music, Michael is a senior instructor of Jingui Golden Shield Qi Gong training hundreds of students in the monastic arts of china for over 25 years.
